Bio

Pamela Carroll

Born and raised in Southern California, Pamela Carroll embraces the traditional focus of Realism and Pictorial Illusionism. Carroll's style of painting has been influenced by the early Dutch masters as well as contemporary realist painters of today.

Pamela Carroll has been a dedicated artist for the majority of her adult life with the exception of a sixteen year hiatus when her priority was motherhood. Currently Pam is a full time artist.

2005 Monterey Museum of Art, Juried Competition. People’s Choice Award.
2006 The Artist's Magazine, "Still Life Competition." Third Place.
2006 The White House, Washington D.C. Selected as Artist of the Year to paint a series of Christmas paintings used to illustrate the White House Christmas brochure.
2007 Juried into "Small Works North America" show held at Greenwich Workshop Gallery, Fairfield, Connecticut. Publisher’s Choice Award.
2008 Juried into “The New Reality:The Frontier of Realism in the 21st Century,” a two year traveling museum show.
2008 Commissioned by the Bakersfield Museum of Art, Bakersfield, California to paint a Trompe l'oeil work for their permanent collection.
2010 The Artist's Magazine 2010 Annual Art Competition. Finalist in still life catagory for "Three Quarter Time".
2011 Juried into the international guild of realism show held at Sage Creek Gallery, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Directors Choice award.

Artist Statement

As an artist I view my paintings as works that evoke a sense of nostalgia and tactile realism. It is the relationship between the subject and observer, where the appearance of reality and art are measured in very fine lines.
